Rob Shrimpton
Handyman

I've been developing my handyman skills for many years since I was gifted my first drill as a teenager.  I quit my day job as a manager in Higher Education to become a professional handyman in 2021.

Formerly of the Cotswolds and West Midlands, I now live in an very old and very draughty cottage near Dinas Mawddwy that I'll be renovating for probably the next decade.

I’ve always had a deep appreciation for repairing and restoring things—whether it’s a car, a window frame, robots, washing machines... or anything really. Property maintenance and repair have always been areas I enjoy, and I’ve always preferred solving problems myself. However, I understand that not everyone has the time, tools, inclination or expertise to tackle these tasks, or they may have had negative experiences hiring tradespeople in the past and so feel unable to resolve issues. I became a professional handyman to answer this need.

I’m easy-going, down-to-earth and I enjoy explaining things clearly.  I pride myself on being reliable and committed, holding myself to a high standard of service and integrity. Every project is completed with care, attention to detail, and a focus on cleanliness and quality.  I take the time that's required to get things right; while this sometimes means that certain jobs might take a bit longer, this is reflected in the quality of my work.  Additionally, I provide aftercare to all clients where needed to ensure repairs have settled well and to make any tweaks or revisions as may be necessary.

I don’t do advertising beyond this website, Instagram and what you can find on Google. Most of my business comes from word-of-mouth and the reputation I’ve built. Thus I work hard to ensure each client has a positive experience and would gladly recommend my services to friends and family.
